[Moonlight, Roquebrune]. c. 1921. Etching and aquatint. 8 1/4 x 11 3/4 (sheet 11 x 15). A rich impression in pristine condition, printed on the full sheet of cream wove paper with deckle edges. Signed in pencil. $200.

Roquebrune, on the Orb River, in Haut Languedoc, France, is called the "Nice of Hérault". It is a beautiful village fixed on the rock, hence the name. The tower of Roquebrun is the sole remaining trace of a Carolingian castle built to protect the inhabitants from barbarian invasions in the year 900.
