1867. Gillotage. Delteil 3303 only state. RARE. 9 3/4 x 9 1/4 (sheet 11 5/8 x 11). Series: Croquis Parisien. -- Par Daumier (Parisian Sketches -- by Daumier), plate 251. Published in Le Charivari November 26, 1867. Four fold marks and two brown stains in the leaves above the gentleman on the right; sheet trimmed. Initialed and annotated 'Gillot' in the stone, lower left. $375.
A gillotage was produced from a zinc relief plate.
(Parisian sketches) are titles of a series containing total of 120 prints. They were published in the Charivari, in the Journal Amusant and in the Petit Journal pour Rire between September 1852 and February 1877.
