Douglas Warner Gorsline was born in Rochester, New York in 1913. He studied at the School of Fine Arts at Yale University from 1930-1931,and at the Arts Student League in New York from 1932-1935. He worked in the uurban genre style. His drawings and paintings reflected the American scene.
