Wet Saturday. 1929. Drypoint. McCarron 81. 10 x 10 3/8 (sheet 13 X 13 7/8). Edition 72 recorded impressions, including 1 trial proof. A fine impression printed on oatmeal-flecked fine paid paper. Signed and annotated "imp" in pencil, indicating a proof printed by the artist himself.Accompanied by a proof from the cancelled plate printed on cream wove paper and numbered 10. $17,500 for the pair.

According to McCarron, "The central group of figures is effectively displayed against the extremely faint rendering of a curb line and the paine white background. The scalloped lines ofthe dresses are echoed by the curving shapes of the umbrellas. The ten restrikes that were printed from this plate were made before the plate was donated to the Detroit Institute of Arts."
