A rich, glowing impression on pale greenish-toned laid paper from an old book.Venetian Night is considered to be the artist's master etching. $12,000. Carter writes, "In a gondola that drifts along a Venetian canal a man stands playing on a violin. His figure is silhouetted against a blaze of light on the lower storey of a palace beyond."
