Bateaux de Haarlem à Amsterdam. (Haarlem Boats in Amsterdam) (after Zeeman). 1850. Etching. Burty 13, Delteil-Wright 14; Schneiderman 17.ii. 2 1/2 x 4 13/16 (sheet 2 11/16 x 5 3/16). Printed on tan chine affixed to white wove paper. Narrow margins. Meryon etched this copy of an etching by Reiner Zooma, called Zeeman. Initialed in the plate. A fine impression of a rare early print. $975.

Le Grand Châtelet à Paris, vers 1780. 1861. Etching and drypoint. Schneiderman 74.iv. 9 3/16 x 11 3/4 (sheet 13 1/2 x 19 1/4). Edition 100 in this state. A fine impression printed on laid paper with the letters 'A&M' in a crown. Initialed in the plate. The etching was done after an old drawing in the collection of Monsieur Bérard. It was exhibited at the Salon of 1863. Initialed in the plate, lower left. $750.

Le Ministère de la Marine (The Admiralty, Paris). 1865. Etching. Schneiderman 94.v/vii. 6 5/8 x 5 3/4 (sheet 9 7 /8 x 7 13/16). A fine early impression before the addition of the lettering in the lower margin. State before publication by Cadart and Luquet for the Société des Aquafortistes, August 1, 1866. fine impression on cream laid paper with full margins. Monogrammed in the plate. $2,250.

Published by Cadart and Luquet for the Soeiété des Aquafortistes, August 1, 1866. Blindstamp of the publishers, Cadart and Luquet. Monogrammed, titled and signed in the plate. A fine impression on cream laid paper with full margins. $1,500.

La Morgue (the Mortuary, Paris). 1954. Etching. Delteil-Wright 36.iv/vii; Schneidermann 42.iv/vii. 9 x 8 1/8 inches (sheet 10 3/8 x 8 15/16). The inscriptions added in cursive: 'C. Meryon del. sculp.mdcccliv' lower left and 'Imp. Rue nueve S^t. Etienne-su-Mont. N^o 26' lower right. A striking impression printed in black-brown ink on fine cream laid paper . Meryon printed this plate himself, carefully wiping the plate so as to give a luminous glow to the central part of the image. Ex-collection John W. Wilson (Lugt 2581). Signed and titled in the plate. $9,000.

La Morgue (The Mortuary, Paris). 1865. Etching. Delteil-Wright vi/vii; Schneiderman 42.vi/vii. 6 5/8 x 5 3/4 (sheet 17 7/8 x 142 3/16). The inscriptions of state iv removed and new inscriptions added in block letters: 'LA MORGUE./1850./A DELATRE IMP R S^t JACQUES 265' lower center; and 'SABRA./DENTISTE/DU/PEUPLE.' on the house to the right; and 'HOTEL DES TROIS BALANCES MUEBLE.' on one to the left; and the monogram, upper left. Series: Eaux-Fortes sur Paris. A rich impression printed on 'HUDELIST' laid paper. Provanance: C.W. Dowdeswell (Lugt 690). $5,000.

An extremely rich impression with plate tone, printed on the full sheet cream laid paper. Annotated in pencil by the British collector, 'M Sadler Esq' upper left. An extremely scarce image. Early printing in this state, with the dolphin atop the spire printing distinctly (later in this state it was replaced by a weathercock). Printed on cream wove paper. $2,750.
